el taquito cafe
in a rush to get back home in time for kicking balls, we left texas as the sun was rising. but before that, we had to have one south texas breakfast. we got to el taquito cafe at 6am, just as they were opening.

(note the darkness)

two large breakfast tacos. one with egg and potato and the other with egg and beans. according to the waitress, the cook said “that’s a lot of food, but i bet he can finish it.”

yup.
i should add that the pictures don’t really do this justice. the tortillas were homemade and ridiculously soft and fresh. and that whole plate of food cost $4. it was my favorite meal in south texas.
