dosti bar and restaurant

i know the blog has been awfully quiet for the past month, but i assure you, buddy herms has still been seeing, reading, hearing, and most importantly, eating things. i’m gonna try to do a good job of posting from elgin, il (“the city in the suburbs”), where i’ll be until sunday. and maybe if i’m feeling productive, i’ll fill in some posts from my recent trips to cincinnati and la.

we got into o’hare in the eaerly afternoon and were ready for a big lunch. i yelped us over to dosti bar and restaurant. it was on the way to elgin, and boasted a $6(!) lunch buffet. and like all good ethnic restaurants in the suburbs, it was in a strip mall.

when it was all over, i did three plates and needed to wait 10 minutes before i could walk to the car. everything was really wonderful — much fresher and more flavorful than i expected. and did i mention it cost $6? i didn’t follow all of the instructions in the definitive all-inclusive all-you-can-eat buffet guide, but i definitely got my money’s worth. also, my next meal wasn’t until breakfast the next morning.
